If you want to explore a career as an engineering artisan, or choose this pathway to become an engineer, then this program is for you.

ATI has designed its Artisan Bridging program with eLearning and practical components for an optimal learning experience.

How we can assist you

  • If you need a loan to fund your studies, we will put you in touch with our partner banking institutions to finance your studies.
  • ATI will sign a learner agreement with you for a period of 10 months.
  • During this period ATI will pay you a stipend of R3000 per month which can be used to repay your study loan.
  • We will arrange at least 3 interviews for you with our industry partners for the on-the-job component of your learning.
  • The host employer will pay your revision and trade test fees.

ATI has two study options based on your highest level of education

Option 1: Grade 10 with Math's (any) and English pass mark

Duration: 1 Day

eLearning Trade Phase1

Duration: 1 Month

Workshop practical Phase 1

Duration: 3 Months

eLearning Trade Phase 2

Duration: 1 Month

Step 5: Workshop practical Phase 2

Duration: 3 Months

Step 1 – 5: 8 Months

On-the-job practical component with ATI 

Duration: est. 4 Months

Step 1-6: 12 Months

Placement in industry as apprentice

Duration: est. 18 Months

Revision and Trade Test (covered by host employer)

Duration: 2 Months

Option 2: Grade 9 to 12 with no Math's and English pass mark
